When is the best time to trim my trees?
Late winter or early spring — while trees are dormant — is ideal for most species. However, dead or dangerous branches can and should be removed immediately, any time of year. Kevin will advise you on the right timing for your specific trees.
How much does tree trimming cost?
Prices vary based on tree size, number of trees, accessibility, and how much work is needed. Kevin provides free, no-obligation estimates. Small ornamental trees cost less than massive oaks towering over your roof.
Will trimming hurt my tree?
Proper pruning actually helps trees by removing dead or diseased wood, improving air circulation, and reducing weight on weak limbs. Improper pruning (topping, stub cuts, over-thinning) does hurt trees. We practice only proper, science-based techniques.
How often should my trees be trimmed?
Most mature trees benefit from trimming every 3 to 5 years. Young trees may need more frequent shaping. Fast-growing species like silver maples may need attention every 2 to 3 years. Kevin will recommend a schedule based on your trees.
Do you trim trees near power lines?
Yes, with extra caution. Trees near power lines require specialized training and equipment. Kevin is experienced in working around utilities safely. For lines directly attached to your home, we coordinate with you. For main utility lines, we may recommend contacting the power company first.
